Spotlight: Going the "Extra Mile for these Kids"

Paraprofessionals and school-related personnel (PSRPs) are critical members of the public education workforce whose efforts ensure student success, from Pre-Kindergarten through college. Despite their collective wealth of knowledge, experience and passion, their many diverse and vital contributions are sometimes overlooked. We're spotlighting a union member being honored for her work on the same day that PSRPs are given overdue credit for the critical difference they make in their students' lives.

Spotlight: Supporting Students' Educational Opportunities

Paraprofessionals and school-related personnel (PSRPs) represent approximately 40 percent of the staff in our nation's public schools and play a vital role in reclaiming the promise of a great education. We're spotlighting union members who are "the engines keeping public schools running" at the same time that they are recognized nationally for the positive impact they have on students' lives.

An Open Letter to PreK-12 Teachers and School Support Personnel

This is American Education Week -- a time to celebrate public education and to honor everyone who is involved in making sure that each child receives all that they need to get a high quality public education. We’d like to take this time to thank all of the AFT CT members that work tirelessly each and every day for the children in their schools and their communities.
