Local affiliates have for the past three months continued to transform the future of work for themselves and the next generation at the negotiating table. Historic wage gains aimed at improving recruitment and retention are the highlight of a recent contract showcased in our latest collective bargaining wins report. The victory is a prime example of members - both today and tomorrow - benefitting by choosing "Union YES" and accomplishing more together than alone.
 

Spotlight: Health Professionals Providing Quality Dental Care

Dental hygienists play a vital role in preventive care, education and treatment in a variety of settings, including private practices as well as public clinics and schools. What they share in common is a commitment to improving patient outcomes by promoting greater awareness of the importance of good oral health. During the annual recognition of these dedicated caregivers we're spotlighting union members devoted to quality clinical, therapeutic and educational dental services for those they serve.
 

Where the Front Line Meets the Bottom Line

Hundreds of nurses and health professionals last week gathered in Washington, D.C. to raise their voices on the issues affecting frontline caregivers and their patients. They came to the nation's capitol for AFT's annual Professional Issues Conference (PIC) and Labor Academy for hospital and healthcare workers. More than 30 members of AFT Connecticut-affiliated unions were among the attendees for this year's event, organized under the theme "Where the Front Line Meets the Bottom Line."
